TEAM

CARL KUSTER

CKMP is the dream of Carl Kuster, former Snocross racing star on the Blair Morgan Racing Team. While Carl was well known for his Snocross and X-Game accomplishments, his father Jim Kuster introduced him to mountain riding at the age of 10 and it has been his true passion ever since. This 30 year love and infatuation for big mountain riding lead him to create CKMP in the Monashee mountain range of British Columbia in 2008. Carl is an outstanding and patient teacher. He can improve the skills of even the most experienced backcountry snowmobiler. Obtaining a mechanical background from working at his parent’s dealership from a very young age, he eventually attended Fairview College to be a journeyman motorcycle mechanic. All these attributes together help him contribute to partners like BRP the evolution of the snowmobile industry and backcountry riding experiences.

LEAD GUIDE

I have been Guiding in and around central BC for the past 12 years and been the lead guide at Carl Kuster mountain park for the last 3 years. My years of experience, avalanche training, education and love of the back country have given me the opportunity to take on the lead Guide role at CKMP and help educate and build the guiding program. My love of Motorsports and the out doors doesn’t stop at snowmobiles. The summers are spent on two wheels riding, racing and exploring with Guests at CKMP as well as in my spare time. Weekends are spent with my wife and daughter, enjoying all the outdoor activities we are lucky enough to have in our backyard!

LEAD GUIDE

I have been snowmobiling for about 25 years now, and professionally Guiding for 12 years. Before that I was an avid backcountry skier. The reason I started snowmobiling is because i wanted to ski the big lines, and i felt that a snowmobile would be my ticket to getting back into some of these remote places. I soon realized that in order to ski the big lines I definitely needed more skills on the machine. This is where it all started… I finally left the skis at home, slipped on the comfy boots and headed out to learn how to snowmobile, and never looked back. I still love strapping on the skis now and then, but snowmobiling to me is like getting to ski up and down the mountain in never ending powder, what could be better.
I have been with CKMP since the beginning, ever since Carl convinced me of this crazy idea – and have been by his side every step of the way.
My favorite thing to do in the winter when not working, is exploratory sledding – finding new areas to sled and sled ski with friends is the ultimate. In the summer I love dirt biking, mountain biking, surfing and spending time with Carl, our son Carver, family & friends.

I grew up as a small town Sask kid riding sleds and dirt bikes since a young age. My first sled was a kitty cat and I put a lot of miles on it driving around the front yard. I never found my passion for mountain riding until I came to CKMP in 2014 as a guest, and soon decided I needed to make snowmobiling my career. I came to work for CKMP the 2016-2017 winter and never looked back.
I am a jack of all trades so you will see me guiding you up the mountain in winter and summer, to working on sleds or bikes at night in the shop. My favorite part of the job is being able to put a smile on everyones face no matter the weather or snow condition. When I m not at work you will find me hanging out with my family, dirt biking, mountain biking, or basically anything out doors.
Loaf is Life.
